Wonderful News!

"Making Them Visible," has some wonderful news for the art exhibition! Our friend, Diko, from Southern Sudan, will be our featured speaker! Diko attended a school in Northern Uganda that was attacked by the LRA. She is going to come and share her story with us about the experiences that she had in this war torn region. There is so much power in a person's journey... I can't wait for Diko to share hers with us... I am sure that it will impact our own.

  1. I had the pleasure to meet Diko at Move for Uganda and I have to say she is such a sweet lady with a very beautiful spirit. I am beyond excited about my students getting to meet Diko and to hear her story. Thanks a bunch Diko for sharing you time with us. Peace.

  3. I never thought how bad other kids around the world had it..Until i heard about the invisible children. It brings tears right when you start watching the vidoes about what is happening over in Uganda. The children are treated very bad and some many kids are killed. I think we are doing as much as we can but we need to do more.. alot more. Now that i seen and heard what is going on i wont to help more and more each day.. Just so that i can put a smile on some kids face and make them happy again and dont have to worry about what is going on.

  5. i'm so excited about the whole thing. i can't wait to meet a SURVIVOR of this terrible disease. I can only imagine the pain, that those people go through daily. having to wake and go to sleep in fear, having to live with the fact knowing i can be killed, or swept away, at any given moment. or even being a mother, and almost to the point of regret, for raising my child, in a world like this, with no other option... that would kill me. it truly pains me, when i watch the videos,to hear or read the stories. but, if god made us go through this, i know that he will make a garden of eaden, out of this living hell. peace- to uganda, to diko, to the invisible.

  6. today i heard from my teachers that we are the only schools, ocoee and lake forest, that are really moving for uganda... some how, i thought that to be disturbing. not only do i want to help the peolpe, the children, affected by joesph koney, but i want to let the world hear their voices. not just bradley county. but tennessee, kentucky, ohio, louisianna, california, the united states or america... then maybe. just maybe, our voice will spread across the world, and then it won't be just me and my friends, standing up for something. it will be the world, united, standing for one cause. i know that every phone call, every email, every letter, is one step closer to what we need, and that is a change. peace-to the invisible, to uganda, to the cause.
